Translating a foreign document for a Canadian application

The koseki tōhon is the Japanese family register: it is what proves your birth, your parentage and your marriage to IRCC, since Japan issues no separate birth certificate. Asiatis produces its certified translation into English, ready to file.

China issues two separate diplomas where Canada sees only one: the 毕业证 attests that you completed the programme, the 学位证 that the degree was conferred. Both are filed, along with the transcript. Asiatis produces their certified translation into English.

The 结婚证 is the Chinese marriage booklet, issued in duplicate by the civil affairs bureau. For a divorce, the document depends on the route taken: a divorce booklet where the divorce was by consent, a court judgment where it was contested. Asiatis translates all three.

The 银行流水 is the transaction record of a Chinese bank account, requested to evidence your funds or the origin of your savings. Note: for proof of funds, IRCC asks for an official bank letter, not a statement. Asiatis translates both, and tells you which one you have.

Korea issues a free online English version of several family register certificates. It settles many cases — but it does not show your children, and it is not available to everyone. Asiatis translates the Korean versions where the English one is not enough.

The 제적등본 is a copy of the former Korean family register, closed on 1 January 2008. It carries births, marriages and deaths before that date — and unlike the current certificates, it exists in no English version at all. Asiatis produces its certified translation.

The 범죄·수사경력 회보서 is the Korean criminal records check report. Only one of its versions counts for an immigration application: the one whose scope expressly refers to entry and stay in a foreign country. Asiatis produces its certified translation into English.

PSA certificates are issued in English and do not need translating. Your local documents, however, are often in Filipino: barangay certificates, affidavits, sworn statements. Asiatis translates them and accompanies them with an affidavit, the route IRCC provides for Tagalog.

IRCC does not ask for "a Vietnamese police certificate": it names the Phiếu Lý lịch tư pháp **số 2** precisely. No. 1, the one you get by default, does not show the same things and will be refused. Asiatis translates the right document into English.
